KIT LIST

We kindly ask that your child should arrive on site dressed appropriately and ready for whatever the Highland weather might throw at us. If it's raining or wet weather is forecast, this means already in their waterproofs and wellies. We can deal with changes throughout the day as necessary, but ensuring they are ready to go as soon as they arrive helps them to settle for the day.

Dressing for the seasons can be tricky to get right with our changeable weather, but generally, in all seasons layering is good, allowing for quick easy changes if too cold/ hot or wet.

No matter the weather, your child will need…

A refillable water bottle: filled with water. We encourage healthy eating and positive oral hygiene routines through Childsmile. We kindly ask that parents to not add juice to water bottles for this reason.

A suitable backpack: choosing the right backpack size can be tricky, especially if your child is still quite small. We encouarge the children to carry their own bags up to their hooks and down again as a part of the daily routine. Their bag should not be too big for them to carry but should have enough space for them to pack their spare clothes/ waterproofs and water.

At least one full change of clothing: including multiple pairs of underwear and socks.

A packet of their own wet wipes.

All seasons

On warm sunny days, it can still get cool under the trees…

A zip up hoodie or cardigan: As well as the usual extra change of clothes in their bag and thin layers which can be easliy removed or added.

We also ask that your child arrives wearing sun cream and midge repellant or with a midge net. We can also provide midge nets and can reapply both sun cream and midge repellant if necessary throughout the day.

A sun hat and sun glasses will be helpful for protecting eyes.

A Raincoat and light waterproof trousers or puddlesuit and wellies for if the weather changes or if your child is enjoying water.
